First and Second Years

Brown’s flexible on-campus dining options ensure that first and second year students have the nourishment they need to balance health, well-being, and academic excellence no matter how busy their schedules.

First Years

All first-year students are required to have a full-coverage meal plan. First-year students can choose between one of two comprehensive meal plans, the 20 Weekly or Flex 460. The 20 Weekly plan is a more managed plan and is optimized for all-you-care-to-eat service, while Flex 460 offers more flexible a la carte opportunities.

First-year students are automatically enrolled the 20 Weekly meal plan for Fall and you may switch to the Flex 460 meal plan for the same cost until the meal plan change deadline in September. Between Fall and Spring semester you may make one additional meal plan change before the January meal plan change deadline to select a plan that better suits your needs.

Second Years

Second-year students are required to have a full-coverage meal plan. As a second-year student, you can choose between four meal plans, the 20 Weekly, 14 Weekly, Flex 460, or Flex 330. The 20 and 14 weekly plans are more managed plans and are optimized for all-you-care-to-eat service, while Flex 460 and Flex 330 offer more flexible a la carte opportunities.

All second-year students who with a meal plan in Spring semester will be assigned the same meal plan for the following Fall semester. Newly matriculating second-year students without a meal plan will be automatically enrolled in the 20 Weekly meal plan for Fall.
